The Department of Anaesthesia makes continuous efforts to deliver outstanding clinical care to adult and paediatric patients , including Acute and Chronic Pain management. We provide Anaesthesia services primarily to 2 Operation Theatre complexes which cater to major surgeries like Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery, ENT, Urosurgery, Abdominal, Laproscopic, Gynaecological.
Service Provided
Our ability to provide the highest quality of care is facilitated by having access to the best anaesthetic machines and equipment as well as a complete assortment of pharmacological tools. All areas are equally equipped with latest state of art technology. The department has modern anaesthesia machines with ventilators and monitors like electrocardiograph, pulse oximeters, capnographs, respiratory gas monitors as well as BIS monitors. In addition, there are facilities available for invasive monitoring like Arterial Blood Pressure and cardiac output which are helpful in handling critically ill patients and those coming for complicated major surgical procedures. All Operation Rooms are equipped with Infusion pumps which help deliver the exact rate and amount of drugs to patients during the surgical procedure. Patient warming devices like warming blankets and fluid warmers, rapid infusion devices are also available for use.
We use both general and regional anaesthetic techniques either alone or in combination. Regional anaesthesia is provided by single shot or catheter techniques and is provided by using the latest in block placement techniques.
After surgery, patients are monitored in a modern well equipped postoperative recovery care unit by specially trained nursing staff under the guidance of the Anesthesiologists. Those who need more intense monitoring for a longer period of time are shifted to the critical care unit for further management.
